Casamance Region of Senegal
Casamance is a region in southwest Senegal that is separated
by the rest of Senegal by a country known as "The Gambia",
which is the smallest country in Africa (The Gambia is
completely surrounded by Senegal except for a sall strip
of coastline on the Atlantic Ocean).
Casamance shares its southern border with the country of Guinea-Bissau.
The region's largest city is Ziguinchor and it includes
the Casamance River. The two main administrative sub-regions
of Casamance are, from west to east,
the Ziguinchor Region, the Sedhiou Region, and the Kolda Region.
