North-West District (formerly known as the Ngamiland District)
of Botswana. Maun is most well-known as the gateway
to some of Botswana's most visited attractions
including the Okavango Delta for wildlife viewing, the
Tsodilo Hills for ancient rock art, and the
Makgadikgadi Pans for wilderness experiences.
Maun is also the headquarters of many of Botswana's
Okavango Delta safari and air charter operators.
Maun is the fifth largest town in Botswana and it is
the administrative center of the North-West District,
formerly known as the Ngamiland District.
