Information about fishing in Botswana.
Visitors who are not citizens of Botswana
can only go fishing if they do it through
a licensed fishing lodge or camp.
Only those lodges and canmps can apply for
fishing licenses on behalf of their foreign clients.
Some say the foreigner fishing ban was
enacted to prevent Chinese and other non-citizen
workers from gill-net fishing Botswana, thereby
depriving local fishermen from income opportunities.
